$7.99 Highlights Activity Books at Costco April 17, 2014

Who didn’t love Highlights as a kid growing up? If you had siblings and had to share the magazine you would fight over who got to do the puzzles and activities first. If you didn’t have a subscription to Highlights, do you remember being happy finding a copy of Highlights at the doctor’s office? It was surely disappointing when the someone filled in the puzzles or actually circled the hidden pictures in INK.

I was really excited to find Costco has Highlights Puzzlemania (beginner and expert) and Hidden Pictures (Fun with Friends and Animal Jamboree) for sale right now, These are thick, colorful books with more than 150 puzzles or more than 170 Hidden Pictures that are ready for coloring. These books are $7.99 (58% off the cover price). Hopefully, there are still some available at your local warehouse.

Recommended for ages 6 and up. Age 4 to 5 if your child has good pencil skills, reading and writing skills, and adept at puzzles.

Free Math Facts Made Easy Book |

How to Learn is giving a million free copies of this bestselling book and workbook by Pat Wyman. I think that the biggest challenge for early primary math is mastery of math facts so that you can quickly recall them. Math becomes difficult as students advance in grade level without a solid foundation in this area. Grab this deal!

If you missed out earlier this month on the living social deal, here is a new one!

AmazonLocal San Diego – North County: Adult Admission to the San Diego Zoo Safari Park.

This is a really great price for the San Diego Safari Park in Escondido, CA. This park is located in northern San Diego county. Admission is for this park only and not the San Diego Zoo in Balboa Park. This is a world class zoo and a must see if you visit San Diego with your family. Enjoy this amazing zoo and the tram tour of the park.

Even though it is for adult admission, I would suggest buying this deal over purchasing a child’s admission. Regular single day admission is $42 for adults and $32 for children. Amazon Local is limiting your purchase to 6 admissions.

Promotional deal can be redeemed through 12/20/12. There are certain blackout dates listed in the fine print. This deal expires in 2 days.

KidKraft Train Table & Train Set – Today only! April 2, 2012

Kids.Woot® : One Day, You’ll Understand™.

This is great pricing for a train table and 87 piece train set from KidKraft for $129.99.  If we didn’t already have a table, I would totally grab this deal. I really like the espresso finish and the storage drawer.

You can use the train table with toddlers, but you will have to pack away the elevated structures until your child is around 3 or 4 when they can play without knocking over the structures. This set is compatible with Brio, Thomas wooden, Imaginarium, Melissa & Doug, Plan, Chuggington, and Ikea (those tracks sometimes have a tight fit.) All the major brands.

I would suggest that if you are looking for extra tracks to avoid paying super expensive prices for name brand. You can get a lot of tracks that will satisfy any child’s elaborate design. I suggest something like Orbrium Tracks which is sourced from the same manufacturer that make the Thomas wooden tracks. This is a pretty good 100 piece set being sold at Amazon.

Happy track building!

Kids.Woot® : One Day, You’ll Understand™.

Halo Sleepsack deal today from kids.woot! They only have small and medium sizes right now. Great pricing if you are in need of fleece sacks.

From my previous blog post on Halo Sleepsacks:

These would make a wonderful gift for a baby shower or for an infant..Keep your baby snuggly warm at night and safe from loose blankets in bed which is a major risk factor for SIDs (sudden infant death).

My son slept in a Halo sleepsack during every nap and at night as soon as we stopped swaddling him. He loves his sleep sacks to this day and finds it a very comforting part of his nighttime routine. Best of all, I never worry about him kicking off his blankets even now as a 3 year old. (Halo makes a Big Kids version and also an Early Walker version.)

For future reference, you can sometimes find these on sale at Babies R Us and also sells Halo Sleepsacks which can be ordered site to store for free shipping. Outside of the occasional woot deal, I have also found them for a good price at which if you can combine it with a sale and stack online coupons for free shipping plus a 15, 20 or 30% off coupon.

Highly recommended for all infants and toddlers.
