Kids Zoo app gone free! April 18, 2014

Kids Zoo on the App Store on iTunes.

Kids Zoo app is a pretty good live animal webcam app. It is currently free for download for the iPhone and iPad. (Normally, $0.99) Don’t get frustrated if you don’t see the animals because you need to take into account time zone differences. Plus animals don’t hang out right in front of the camera all day long! These are live webcam feeds from zoos and aquariums from all over the world. I love that the feeds are gathered in one convenient place. This is perfect for any child that loves animals. It is also a good supplement for zoology studies for homeschoolers.

Recommended for ages 2 and up.

Toddler’s Seek and Find has a number of  interactive picture book app for the iPad and iPhone that are top rated, award winning, and very popular. Currently, Wonderkind is offering the HD version of Animal Circus for free download for a limited time. This is normally $1.99. I also linked the free version of My Little Town app.

This app is full of colorful hand-drawn illustrations, and nearly everything on the page is interactive with interesting and funny animations and sounds. This makes it a perfect app for toddlers who are just interested in tapping the display and aren’t ready for more complicated play on a device. M still loves this app, and it always elicits a ton of giggling. Even though, I have clourophobia, this app is cute enough that I can handle playing with it with M.

Highly recommended for 18 months to 4. Grab the HD version of My Animal Circus while it is still free. Check on the developer’s page for other versions of the apps that will work with your device.

Dr. Panda’s Airport on the App Store on iTunes.

Hurry and grab this if you have a young child! This app is usually $1.99, but it is absolutely free right now. Dr. Panda is a super fun series of apps for the toddler and preschool set. You can try lite versions of their apps for free.

Young children love pretend play. Dr. Panda caters to this by creating very fun ways to do pretend play on the iPad. In this app, your child gets to explore all sorts of activities at the airport. This would be a great way to introduce your child to how an airport works through a series of mini-games. This may be useful if you have an airplane trip planned and want to show your child what to expect in a fun way. Of course, your child might get disappointed when no cute animal characters actually hang out at the RW airport.

Recommended for ages 2 to 5.
