KG math HD for iPad on the iTunes App Store.

If you have been following me for awhile, you probably already realize that I really like to get apps for free. I don’t have anything against paying for apps, but I love getting stuff for free.

Mintomeg is a developer of app for kids made and designed by three kids and their dad which I think is really neat. The apps are  voiced by the kids. Their grade level math apps for the iPad are normally priced at $1.99 or $0.99 each, but you can frequently (every week or two) find a Mintomeg app discounted for free download. Currently the Kindergarten app is free for download.

Mintomeg makes other apps (around 3 dozen) that you can find if you search in the iTunes store which are simple, fun, and focus on different skill development like matching, memory, find the difference, sequencing, identification, etc. Usually, something by Mintomeg is offered for free download.

Although these apps are not the slickest ones around, I find that the grade level apps are fairly comprehensive and cover a lot of skills. This app is good for ages 3 to 6. According to the developer, the K level app covers all these skills:

✔ To count number from 1-10 correctly step-by-step
✔ To learn + and –
✔ To learn and classify different shapes of square, triangle, rectangle
✔ To learn and recognize “Color”
✔ To learn and recognize “Seasons”
✔ To learn and recognize “Money”
✔ To learn and recognize “Symmetry”
✔ To learn and recognize “Time”
✔ To learn and recognize “Fraction”
✔ To learn and understand “Short” vs “Long”
✔ To learn and understand “Heavy” vs “Light”
✔ To learn and understand “Left” vs “Right”
✔ To learn and understand “Top” vs “Bottom”
✔ To learn and understand “Inside” vs “Outside”
✔ To learn and understand “Same” vs “Different”
✔ To understand patterns differently
✔ To recognize KG vocabulary naturally
✔ To count numbers from 1-20
 in order
✔ To match the shapes to the correct shadow
✔ To learn about ordering from smallest to biggest (random 1 to 10 )
✔ To learn about True or false in math equation
✔ To learn about which number is before or after
✔ To learn about which number is before or after – Plus ( Up to 10 )
✔ To learn about which number is before or after – Minus ( up to 5 )
✔ To learn about which number is missing ( up to 13)
✔ To learn about choose correct numbers (Plus 1-10)
✔ To learn about Roman Number (1-10)
✔ To learn about adding Roman Number (1-5)

My son (3.5) currently really enjoys playing the KG, and G1 apps. I have not tested the G2 and G3 apps much since they are a bit out of his skill level currently. Keep in mind the G2 and G3 versions are still fairly new and likely will be improved in the future. Here are the links to the other grade level apps:

Pre K Math HD for iPad on the iTunes App Store. Good for ages 2 to 4.

Mac App Store – G1 Math. Good for ages 4 to 7.

G2 Math HD for iPad on the iTunes App Store. Good for ages 5 to 8.

G3 Math HD for iPad on the iTunes App Store. Good for ages 6 to 9.

All of these apps have a easy to use interface, so you can easily use them for younger advanced learners. Have fun playing these math apps with your children.
